rehat (Malay for 'rest') is a room for respite from the festivities, embedded with gentle nooks for rest and artworks one can interact with. It is an exercise in presenting artworks beyond the white cube, in an environment that centres the visitor's physical and mental comfort.

rehat was presented from 19 - 28 July 2024 at Biscotti Cafe as part of the George Town Festival in Penang, Malaysia. The exhibition was also featured in Story of Books' review of the festival.
rehat features five installations (four of which are interactive) within a site-specific arrangement of veils to induce a sense of privacy and comfort. Viewers are invited to rest on the chairs and tikar (straw mats) laid out in the space as they take the time to explore the exhibition.
Existing works were re-created to respond to the shophouse space, with its installation limitations due to the space's heritage status. hati (Malay for 'heart') was debuted in rehat, anchoring the constellation of artworks.
